"She's Very" is one of the three short films whose installation work-in-progress versions were presented in several exhibition-based "Wormholes" project iterations. The film employs and remixes three cinema films belonging to our project's major reference strand, one out of three, the broadest and less sharply delimited one: cinema films, art films, and video works made by either female*-identifying filmmakers or, more vaguely, featuring portrayals of women in their own "wormholes," women undergoing tricky realities and challenging coming-of-age situations. Gena Rowlands, the protagonist of Opening Night, talks about losing touch with "the reality of the reality," a phrase that became a leitmotif of our project that, particularly in this filmwork, inspects narrative moments of implosion and the character work that is woven out of them.
